On June 1, 2022, Council on Aging of Volusia County (COA) will be re-opening its Senior Activity Centers in Deltona, New Smyrna Beach, Orange City and Ormond Beach.
“When we announced in March of 2020 the temporary suspension of senior activities at our centers following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control, as well as the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and the Florida Department of Health, we hoped it would be only for a few months,” stated Eveline Kraljic, COA’s Co-Executive Director.
“We are so excited to be able to provide a place once again for our elder population to come and exercise their bodies, their minds, and their hearts through dancing and fitness classes, playing cards, billiards and bingo and spending time with friends,” stated Nettie Jackson, COA’s Programs Manager for Senior Activity Centers.
Ms. Jackson noted that each of the centers has new staff to welcome Volusia County’s seniors who are ready to gather and socialize.
